A New Dog Park
Hurry up humans!
Dad wanted to drive, though, so we let him. But only because he said we could drive back home. I took my usual position between M & D...
Apparently, she's fond of flies getting stuck in her teeth and butterflies going up her schnoz.
The park is this way!!!
The humans decided to take us to a new dog park this time. We were getting kind of tired of the old one and they heard good things about this one. It's called Red Bud park and it's on a little island type thing behind the University of Texas. Anyway, it turned out to be awesome!
We met up with a bunch of dogs by the water. They were playing fetch with a tennis ball and diving into the lake. Normally, I'll wade into water to get sticks and tennis balls, but I don't like going to places where I can't touch bottom. But THIS TIME, I actually swam! And it was great! I had so much fun and the humans were really proud of me. Look how far out into the lake I swam! (You might need to click on the picture to get a better look.)
I made friends with this girl labbie called Bailey and we spent most of our time fighting to get to the tennis balls first.
A-ha! I got it!
Here you go, Mom!

It was like Labby Central today. We saw about 6 or 7 other Labs and some of them got into the water to play with us.
After about 45 minutes of swimming, we dragged ourselves away and walked on the trail for a little while. We met a bunch of other dogs along the way.
We had such a blast at Red Bud! This is our favorite new place and we going to keep going back there. I can practice my swimming and maybe Cassie can practice her retrieving (and her call-back!)
We zonked out the second we got into the car. Sorry Dad, you're going to have to do the driving again.

ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzz!

Is it ever going to cool down?!
Here in Texas, it's still about 75-80 degrees on most days. The nights cool down to the 60's but OH DOG! It's still too warm for the end of November! But Cassie and I have been taking advantage of the last few weeks of warm weather before it starts cooling down for the winter. It's perfect for running around under the sprinkler! Mom set it up for us the other day and we had a blast!

As you can see in the video below, Cassie likes the water a lot more than I do. We got a major case of the zoomies after getting wet. But the human turned the video camera off just as we started running around, so I don't have that to show you. (Obviously, you can't trust humans to do anything right. Except maybe dinner.)
I hope all of you doggies out there are doing well. What's the weather like for you guys?
Until next time!

It's picture day...
There's been so much going on lately. The house is hopping with excitement! First of all, Cassie is TROUBLE!!! Oh man, she knows how to get into it. She even gets ME into trouble. Can you believe that? Little innocent me?
We have lots more room to run around and play...even when Dad's trying to work...
I have no idea WHY, but Cassie and one of the furballs fatsos cats act like they're best friends or something! Look at the way Phoenix is looking at the camera! "MY PUPPY. DON'T TOUCH."
She's learning stuff quickly now..but she can still be a stupid head. In this picture, we're both waiting patiently for our dinner.
Actually, I couldn't ask for a better little sister. She gets on my nerves sometimes, but she's awfully cute and she's pretty funny, too! I think she can stay.
Until next time!

Me!Me!Me! (finally)
1. Your age?
Today I'm 7 months old!
2. Your age when came to live with your people:
7 1/2 weeks
3. What color is the collar you're wearing right now?
Solid black with my silver bone name tag on it.
4. Who is your favorite person other than the people you live with?
Definitely my Uncle Chris! (My mom's brother) I love it when we go to see him because he'll romp around with me and play fetch and he'll take me for walks around the ranch. Hmm...hey Mom! You should take some pictures of me and Uncle Chris!
5. How much do you weigh?
Hmm...I haven't been weighed in a while, but I think about 60lbs! Geez!
6. Most expensive thing you've every chewed up?
Hmm...let me see...I don't think I've chewed up anything very expensive, but the combined cost of everything that I've killed definitely isn't cheap!
7. Do you like other Dogs?
Definitely. I especially like barking in their faces when I tire them out and I still want to run around!
8. Who is your best non-human friend?
Hmm...definitely my neighbor-dog Ellie. She's so cute and even though she's smaller, she can keep up with me!
9. Squeaky toys or tennis balls?
Hmm...I like rope toys and sticks. Oh man...nothing compares to sticks.
10. Do you like to be brushed?
Not really. Sometimes it's okay if I'm really sleepy. Other than that, I just like to chew on the brush.
11. Peanut Butter or Cheese?
Both! At the same time, even (actually, I've never had them together, but I bet it would taste good!)
12: Do your people cut your toenails?
Most of the time. Sometimes the people at the vets do it.
13. Any formal education?
Puppy classes. And after we move, I might start taking more obedience.
14. Couch potato or Energizer Bunny?
Sorry, I didn't hear that one, I was too busy running around.
15. Five nick-names your people call you:

Crawling on my tummy like a snake. I also like to do doggie-push ups.

18. What did you have for breakfast?
Solid Gold Wolf Cub Formula. Mmmm....Salmon and Bison.
19. Can you hunt (i.e. have you ever killed anything living)?
Just grasshoppers on accident. But I just like to play with them, I don't want to kill them. I don't like it when they stop moving. :(

About a month ago for my skin allergies. I'm still really itchy. I'll give you guys an update on that later.

I love to splash around in water and wade in it, but I don't like when I can't touch the bottom with my feet.

I'm a ramblin' dog. . .
We're leaving on Monday morning (bright and early at 5:30am) to make the 12 hour drive to Tuscon, AZ. Of course we'll make plenty of pit stops and at least 2 one hour breaks for me to run around and see the sights of West Texas and New Mexico. 'Still, a 12 hour drive seems pretty long,' you might say. But not for me! I love riding in the car. The bumpier the better too! At first it's like a roller coaster ride until it lulls me to sleep and I pass out curled up in a ball. I'm not much of a 'ride halfway out the window dog' like some other guys I've seen on the road. My mom doesn't really like it when I do it, and besides - the wind messes up my fur.
I'm excited about getting there and meeting my family. I wonder what they're like and if they'll like me. I keep thinking about all of the fun things we might do while we're there. Maybe I'll meet a roadrunner! Mom says that they like it out there.
Have any of you doggies out there traveled to another city or state? What was it like? Was it a whole lot different?
PS. After reading this post, Daddy was upset that he wasn't mentioned at all, so I just wanted to say 'I love you, Dad!'

Good to be back...
So how are all of my doggy blogging buddies out there? Is the weather starting to get hot where you live? It's already 90 degrees here in Austin! Yesterday my Mom took me out to play with my friend Ellie (the cutest Basset, Beagle, Lab mix you've ever seen) but it was so hot out there that I didn't want to run around. I tried for a few minutes, but then decided that Ellie and I were better off digging a hole in the nice cool dirt under the big oak tree. We just played Bitey-Face under there for a while until Mom decided it was time to go inside, get a drink and cool off. I said bye to Ellie and her dad, Jordan and went inside to take a nap on the tile floor by the refrigerator.
It got very hot very quick. Just last week, it was perfect weather to run around in the park, get muddy, and play some football.
...check out this cool action shot Mom took while I was pouncing on my training dummy.
My humans are big football fans, so I have a feeling I'll be watching a few practices of our local school team at the park and watching a bunch of games on TV with them. Mom and Dad always fight over what team they think I like: Dad is a Cowboys fan and Mom likes the NY Giants (she grew up in NYC). They truth is, I don't really care! A bunch of people running around with a ball and wrestling with each other just looks like fun to me. Do you think the NFL would recognize an all-doggy football team? Who's up for it?
Until next time...Take care!
